Cybersquatting

Registering a domain matching a known trademark with the intent to sell it back to the brand at a markup, or to redirect their traffic. Actionable under UDRP and the US ACPA.

Bad-faith signals

References to the trademark in the WHOIS, prior cease-and-desist correspondence, redirecting to competitor sites, or holding for sale at a premium are all classic UDRP bad-faith findings.

Defensive registration ≠ cybersquatting

Legit owners registering trademark variants defensively (typo domains, common misspellings) is the inverse — protecting brand, not exploiting it.
