Bid increment
The minimum amount by which a new bid must exceed the current high bid. Usually scales with the bid amount — $1 at $10, $50 at $5,000.
Why scaled
Flat $1 increments at the $10K level produce thousands of trivial bids; flat $100 at the $20 level shuts out small bidders. Scaled increments keep the auction responsive at every band.
